Transcatheter Foam Treatment and Ultrasound
Guided Sclerotherapy
1. Transcatheter Foam Treatment.
A technique for
treating sections of a malfunctioning deeper
vein by administering a foam through a
catheter and into the vein. The vein is
localized and the catheter inserted with the
help of an ultra sound scanner. The treatment is
painless and done under local anesthesia and the
patient will be back to normal activities
immediately. No scars will be visible after
healing.
2. Ultrasound-Guided
Sclerotherapy.
It is also known as Echo
guided sclerotherapy and duplex ultrasound
guided sclerotherapy. This technology is used
for varicose veins with a complex pattern of
reflux, and veins that lie deeper beneath the
surface of the skin. In this approach, the
needle tip is guided with help of ultrasound
scanning at multiple points of injections
and a small amount of sclerosing solution is
injected at each site. The solution will cause
the vein to shrink and close, then later be
absorbed by the body. The treatment is painless
and done under local anesthesia and the patient
will be back to normal activities immediately.
No scars will be visible after healing.
