Dr. Kristiansen, founder and medical director of AdonisMD Cosmetic Surgery Center – formerly known as Vein & Aesthetics Clinic of New England – is a board certified physician focusing on cosmetic surgery and anti-aging since 1997.
In 2000 Dr. Kristiansen became one of the pioneers in the use of Tumescent Anesthesia, the local anesthesia technique used in many minimal-invasive procedures today, such as EVLT™, VNUS Closure®, VenaCure, SmartLipo, VASER Liposuction, Laser Liposuction and Fat Transfer techniques.
She was the first physician in New England to perform both EVLT™ and VNUS Closure® procedures in her practice and has since then trained surgeons in the area.
Dr Kristiansen’s vast degree of experience in minimal-invasive procedures, combined with her extensive ongoing training in the field of varicose vein treatment, Liposuction, Fat Transfer techniques and Regenerative Medicine, has led her to the forefront among her peers.
Despite her current status and position, Dr. Kristiansen is continuously keeping up with the fast moving areas of minimal-invasive procedures for medical and cosmetic purposes. Attending courses, conferences and one-on-one training with the most renowned physicians in the field, is keeping her on the cutting edge.
Dr. Kristiansen graduated medical school in 1978 from Autonomous University of Guadalajara, Mexico (Cum Laude). After graduating she spent one year as a teaching assistant in the department of Cardiology at the U.A.G. and one year of General Surgery Rotating Internship
Her post-graduate medical training was at Lincoln Medical Center (an affiliate of New York Medical College) in New York and UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, a major teaching affiliate of University of Texas Medical School. Here she authored and co-authored numerous scientific articles, while doing clinical and research.
After the boards, she worked in ER, managed care and at the Wound Care Center at Sturdy Memorial Hospital, MA.
When not busy with work, Dr. Kristiansen enjoys gardening, traveling, sports and family.
