Ambulatory Phlebectomy
Phlebectomy is a safe, in-office procedure for
the removal of larger varicose veins or
perforator. The procedure is performed in one
single session per leg. The physician makes a
tiny incision at the affected sites through
which the unwanted vein is extracted gently.
Most incisions are closed with small tape and
leave no scars. Unlike traditional surgical vein
stripping, this procedure is minimally invasive.
It is also known as micro-phlebectomy. The
procedure is painless and is done using local
anesthesia, so the patient will be back to
normal activities the same day.
